Facebook Buys Glancee

It was just a month ago that Facebook bought Instagram and now they’ve done the same with Glancee. Never heard of it? That’s okay, it wasn’t the name recognition that Facebook was looking for with this deal, it’s all about the technology. Glancee was a mobile-discovery service, alerting you to other users with similar interests in your area. The app set some nerves on edge as consumers are still not eager for geo-based apps that tap into your personal profiles. But now that Facebook has the technology, it will be interesting to see just what they do with it. - Further reading:
